Studio Winchester: Design - Build - Future.
This proposed building offers affordable housing for residents of Winchester, KY. The first floor features a welcoming, open space for the community. The ground floor also includes a skatepark for community involvement and entertainment. Above, the private apartments provide residents with an outdoor terrace, which was created for personal gardening or experimenting with hydroponic food production.
To optimize cost and construction speed, I proposed a structural hollow-core precast system. All hollow-core slabs are the same size in this project. The design is programmatic and based on platforms.
